Abstract

In this work, effect of substrate temperature on the optical characteristics of titanium dioxide nanostructured thin films prepared by pulsed-laser deposition was studied. These nanostructured thin films were prepared at 200°C, 300°C, and 400°C and then their surface morphology determined by the field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) were compared to those of as-prepared nanostructured thin films. It was found that the particle size as well as the aggregation of the formed nanoparticles have increased with increasing substrate’s temperature due to the induction of thermal effects leading to increase the attachment forces between the nanoparticles deposited on the substrates.
