Characterization of Titania/Silica Nanophotocatalyst Fabricated by Reactive Sputtering

Abstract

In the present work, titnia (TiO2) and silica (/SiO2) nanocomposites were synthesized by dc reactive co-sputtering technique using different O2:Ar gas mixing ratios to fabricate nanophotocatalyst devices. The results of photodegradation of the organic pollutant and water pollutant under UV irradiation suggest that the titania/silica nanocomposite photocatalyst activity is highly improved as compared with that of TiO2 photocatalyst.
